Larian Studios has announced that the closed beta for the highly anticipated Patch 7 of Baldur's Gate 3 will be delayed due to a significant technical issue related to passive dice rolls.

According to a developer post on X, while attempting to fix various bugs in the system, the passive dice roll mechanism completely stopped working. This issue is critical, as dice rolls are a central element in games based on the Dungeons and Dragons universe, both in physical and digital forms.

The closed beta was initially scheduled to be released today but has now been postponed to later in the week. Larian Studios is working to resolve these issues and identify the root cause of this critical bug. In the meantime, the studio has shared some details about what players can expect in the upcoming patch.

The update promises to be significant, bringing new evil endings that will provide villainous players with a true sense of accomplishment. Additionally, there will be the introduction of a new Mod Manager and split-screen functionality, allowing players to share the experience with friends in a more integrated manner.
