Today marks the launch of the "The War Within" pre-patch in World of Warcraft. Alongside the patch details, Blizzard has also announced the schedule for dungeons and raids in the new expansion.
The pre-expansion patch includes a host of new features, including Warbands, Skyriding, updated maps, and more. Level 70 players can also embark on a new questline, "Visions of Azeroth," which sets the stage for the story of "The War Within."
Warbands make their debut in this patch, allowing players to share Renown, achievements, collections, and even a Warband bank across all characters on their account. This means every character can access any item appearances collected, along with Legacy raid class tokens, offering new customization options for your alts.
Skyriding is the new name for Dragonriding, as the update expands the ability to many flying mounts in most flyable areas around Azeroth. Players now have two options: Skyriding, which can be learned at level 10, or the older style introduced in The Burning Crusade, known as Steady Flight.
Other notable features in this pre-patch include talent adjustments, balance changes, and a new PvP feature: Rated Battleground Blitz solo queue.
On July 30, the pre-expansion event Radiant Echoes will also go live. This event runs until the full expansion release on August 26, allowing players to collect Residual Memories, an event currency used to purchase exclusive items from zone vendors.
With all these additions, Dragonflight Season 4 comes to an end, and Blizzard has outlined the key dates for the upcoming content. August 20 marks the start of the PvP preseason, followed by early access to the expansion and normal dungeons opening on August 22, ahead of the full release on August 26.
Additionally, on September 10, Season 1 of "The War Within" begins, with raids opening and further unlocks over the following weeks.
