Today, RuneScape launched its latest update focusing on Mining and Smithing skills, raising the level cap for these skills to 110. This increase marks the beginning of a series of planned skill improvements, as announced by the development team.

Previously, reaching level 99 was the pinnacle for players, but with this update, those interested in advancing their Mining and Smithing skills now have new challenges ahead. The new level cap not only allows players to reach level 110, but also introduces the ability to mine 10 new Dungeonering ores in the Daemonheim area, accessible at Mining level 100. These new mining rocks are scattered across the peninsula, and it's up to players to find and mine them. By collecting these ores, you can combine them to forge Primordial Bars.

With Primordial Bars in hand, players can create Primordial Armor, the Primordial 2H Sword, and the Primordial Pickaxe, which will now become the best forgeable pickaxe in the game. In addition to these new opportunities, the update brought improvements to the user interface (UI), including the addition of a new quantity slider in the forging interface, allowing for the creation of multiple items at once.

This is just the beginning of a series of improvements that will come to other skills in RuneScape, with the aim of providing new challenges and content for players who have already reached level 99. While many players have yet to reach this level, those who have can continue to evolve their skills and explore new possibilities in the game.

In addition to this skill-focused update, the RuneScape team announced that more details about the game's future will be revealed later this week. On August 15, at 12 PM ET/5 PM BST, the official RuneScape YouTube channel will broadcast the program "RuneScape Ahead," where the team will present the next roadmap of updates, with plans extending into mid-2025 and beyond.
