Tomorrow, August 14th, Lost Ark will receive the much-anticipated "Calm Before the Storm" update. This new phase of the game introduces exciting features, including Indigo Island, a challenging new dungeon, the Bound Gold system, along with improvements, special events, and new cosmetics.

Scheduled downtime will begin at midnight PT, and the update will be available globally shortly after. For those eager for new adventures, Indigo Island is the perfect destination for players with item level 1600. Explore this new environment, discover five Mokoko seeds, unlock two new achievements, and earn five unique structures that can be acquired through island exchanges. While exploring the island, you can embark on a special quest that will lead you to the Sea Cave solo dungeon, a unique addition to Lost Ark's single-player content.

The Sea Cave dungeon can be completed once per day and offers a scalable experience, where successful completion rewards you with the Luminous Coral Stone. This valuable item can be exchanged for progression materials and other rewards. The dungeon features three different paths, but only one will be accessible at first. As you progress, the other two paths will unlock, offering more challenges and prizes.

Another major addition is the Bound Gold system, where certain activities will now reward players with Bound Gold instead of tradable gold. This bound gold can only be used for progression purposes, a measure implemented to combat cheaters and provide new ways to reward players. For instance, solo mode raids will now reward Bound Gold, reinforcing the focus on character development.

Additionally, the update brings various improvements, notably the Chaos Dungeons, which will now feature a "weekly purification" system. By playing with the Aura of Resonance active, players will earn purification points weekly. These points can be exchanged for reward chests at specific milestones. Another significant change is the replacement of Silver and Honor fragments from dungeons with reward chests based on the purification system.

To celebrate these changes, the game introduces a Chaos Dungeon purification event, a new monthly event called Fever Time, and updated daily login rewards. The store will also receive new cosmetics, including the spooky Omen collection, which is sure to appeal to players who love customizing their characters.
