Nvidia has announced an exciting new partnership between its cloud gaming service, GeForce Now, and Overwolf's mod platform, CurseForge. This means that World of Warcraft players can now use their favorite mods even when playing in the cloud.
With the release of World of Warcraft: The War Within scheduled for August 26, this feature comes at the perfect time. The mod support will allow players to customize the interface and other game elements, making the cloud experience even more similar to playing on a local PC. The collaboration between GeForce Now and CurseForge brings over 25 of the platform's top Addons to Ultimate and Priority members, as well as Day Pass users.
According to Nvidia's blog, implementing the Addons is straightforward, just as it would be on a local PC, and a CurseForge account is not required. Simply launch WoW and enable the Addons from the in-game menu.
This technological advancement marks a significant step forward for cloud gaming, bringing it closer to the experience offered by traditional machines. However, it's important to note that a premium Nvidia GeForce Now subscription is needed to access the mod support. Additionally, this functionality isn't limited to the new The War Within expansion but will also be available for World of Warcraft Classic and Cataclysm Classic.
For more details, Nvidia has provided a detailed FAQ about the included Addons and any potential service limitations.
Improved Connection with NoPing
To fully enjoy this new feature, a stable and high-quality connection is essential. This is where NoPing makes a difference. With NoPing, players can reduce ping, increase FPS, and solve common issues like packet loss and jitter. This ensures a smooth, uninterrupted gaming experience, crucial for those playing World of Warcraft with mods via Nvidia GeForce Now.
