The Monsters & Memories development team has released a new update covering the progress made during July and August. This report follows stress tests and gameplay testing, highlighting advancements in various areas and insights gained throughout the development process.
Advancements in Visual Arts and Characters
The project’s artists have made significant progress on multiple fronts. This includes creating concept art for item icons, new clothing sets, and the development of a new zone. Additionally, art has been developed for NPCs and creatures, such as the menacing "Flesh Collector" from the Deep Dwarves and Haradrel, the God of War.
In terms of character development, there have been important updates to the human skeleton model, which can now visually display chest armor and capes when equipped. A new chainmail armor set has been developed, along with adjustments for helmets and the addition of new faces for forest elves. The team also shared examples of new dragon equipment and corresponding animations, as well as progress on skeletons, with a particular highlight being a short clip showing a halfling skeleton in action.
Improvements to the Crafting System and User Interface
The team has implemented a new crafting system and an improved user interface (UI), providing a more intuitive and accessible experience. Players can now automatically learn recipes based on their crafting skill level, while other recipes can be discovered throughout the game. The UI has been designed to streamline the process: components required for crafting are highlighted in green, while missing ones appear in red. Additionally, recipes are color-coded according to their difficulty, and there’s an indicator showing how many attempts are possible with the available materials. Another player-friendly feature added is the automatic return of items to the inventory if the crafting window is closed.
This detailed update offers a deep insight into how zone creation and concept development evolve into final designs, providing a rich experience for players who appreciate the artistic and technical details of a game.
New Music Tracks
For those who enjoy game music, the team has also released two new tracks, further enhancing the immersion in the Monsters & Memories universe.
Connection Improvements with NoPing
For an even smoother and uninterrupted gaming experience, using NoPing is essential. With this tool, Monsters & Memories players can reduce ping, increasing the fluidity and speed of in-game actions. Moreover, NoPing is an effective solution for common issues like latency, lag, packet loss, and jitter, ensuring a more stable connection and boosting FPS. This way, you can avoid unwanted disconnects and significantly enhance your gameplay experience.
