The ninth edition of the international Dota 2 tournament starts this Wednesday, the 15th. One of the main novelties of this year is in the prize: R $ 131 million raised to date.
About 18 teams will participate in the World Cup, competing over the next two weeks for the grand prize. Among The International 9 teams, twelve teams secured their space in this tournament from DotA Pro Circuit: Team Secret, Virtus.Pro, Vici Gaming, Evil Geniuses, Team Liquid, PSG.LGD, Fnatic, Ninjas in Pajamas, TNC Predator, OG, Alliance and Keen Gaming.
The other teams participating in the World Cup were classified through regional qualifiers. These are Newbee (North America), Infamous (South America), Chaos Esports Club (Europe), Natus Vincere (Eastern Europe), Royal Never Give Up (China) and Mineski (Southeast Asia).
The International 9 will not feature any Brazilian teams. Although paiN Gaming reached its position in the final of the South American dispute, the team was eventually eliminated by Infamous.
Funding for the tournament will end on August 25th. The International 2019 will be held August 15-25 in Shanghai, China.
