World of Warcraft Executive Producer Holly Longdale has shared new details about the game’s future in 2025, including insights into the highly anticipated housing system and an update on the charity campaign conducted through the Charity Pet Program.
In her post, Longdale discussed the current state of the game and highlighted the development team’s initiatives to expand player experiences. Among the upcoming features, she confirmed that the housing system for the Midnight expansion will be officially revealed later this week.
Additionally, she expressed gratitude to the community for its participation in this year’s charity campaign, which raised $2 million for CureDuchenne. The funds were generated through purchases of the Reven Pack, an item inspired by Mats Steen, a Norwegian World of Warcraft player who lived with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and whose story is featured in the Netflix documentary The Extraordinary Life of Ibelin.
The development team also provided further details on the housing system, one of the key features of Midnight. First mentioned during the Warcraft 30th Anniversary Presentation in November, the system has now been outlined with its core design pillars. The team also revealed the first regions in Azeroth where players will be able to access housing at launch and discussed the social aspects of the feature, including player interactions, accessibility integration, and overall space availability within the game.
More details about the Charity Pet Program and the housing system can be found on the official World of Warcraft blog.
