Amazon Games has officially launched Throne and Liberty, a free-to-play MMORPG from NCSoft, following a period of early access. This new title stands out for its intense guild battles, group combat, unique transformations, and large-scale castle sieges.
To commemorate the launch, Amazon released a new trailer along with statements from the teams involved in the project. Merv Lee Kwai, franchise leader at Amazon Games, welcomed players and emphasized the importance of community feedback: “Your feedback has been essential in helping us ensure the best experience for the game's launch. For all of you joining us on the many adventures ahead, we plan to continue listening to player feedback and analyzing player data. This game is for you — and we aim to make that clear.”
This statement follows significant community feedback during the game's beta testing phase. Throne and Liberty faced some controversies, particularly regarding its financial model. Many players expressed concerns that the auction house might favor paying users, echoing worries raised after the original release in South Korea. Amazon and NCSoft reassured that the Western launch would be tailored to audience expectations, making adjustments to address concerns about potential pay-to-win elements.
