Apex Legends Season 31 introduces a major Crypto rework alongside buffs for Lifeline and Revenant, according to Dot Esports. The new season will not introduce a new Legend. The latest character added to the roster was Sparrow in Season 25. The upcoming changes aim to make Crypto more active in combat, bring back Lifeline's revive shield and restore Revenant's aggressive playstyle.

What's changing for Crypto in Season 31?

According to Dot Esports, Crypto is receiving two major changes. First, his Hack drone can now be recalled and repositioned with less downtime. This allows players to switch more easily between gathering information with the drone and joining their squad in combat.

The second change introduces Sentry Mode, a new drone mode. When placed in a strategic location, the drone scans nearby enemies, giving Crypto and his squad more opportunities to track opposing players.

The developers explained that the goal is to move Crypto away from a passive playstyle, where the drone remains stationary, and encourage more active information gathering.

Lifeline gets her revive shield back

Lifeline will regain her revive shield, an ability that protects teammates while they are being revived. Players will be able to choose the right moment to deploy this protection during a fight.

According to Dot Esports, the Legend will also receive a shorter Ultimate cooldown and increased mobility, helping her keep up with faster characters such as Alter and Octane.

Revenant returns to a more aggressive playstyle

After receiving a major rework several seasons ago, Revenant is now being adjusted to bring him closer to his original identity: pushing directly into enemy squads.

Both his Ultimate and Tactical ability cooldowns will be reduced. Additional improvements will increase his combat potential, giving players more opportunities to silence enemies or refresh abilities during engagements.
