ARC Raiders underwent a change in its update model defined by Embark Studios on May 13. The game will no longer receive monthly content drops and will shift to only two major annual updates, changing the development pace and reorganizing the studio’s internal planning.

Embark Studios stated that the monthly cycle was limiting the depth of each release. As a result, the studio will concentrate resources into fewer updates while expanding the scope of each package. The decision prioritizes improvements to progression systems, economy, and core gameplay systems.

ARC Raiders Frozen Trail and new content

The Frozen Trail update is scheduled for October and brings the largest set of new content for the game so far. The package includes a new map, ARC enemies, improvements to the skill tree, and new progression systems.

Even with fewer major updates, ARC Raiders will continue receiving fixes, events, and balance adjustments. In addition, players looking for better stability in online matches can use NoPing, a lightweight platform that reduces high ping and improves connection quality in competitive games. New users can test the tool for free.

With this change, ARC Raiders’ content planning will rely on longer production cycles. This directly impacts how the community receives updates throughout the year, as the gap between major releases increases.

The strategy also aims to reduce resource fragmentation and allow more consistent adjustments to progression and economy systems.

As a result, Embark emphasizes that it will continue applying smaller updates between major cycles, including temporary events and technical fixes.

This approach keeps ARC Raiders active in the short term and supports its player base until the release of Frozen Trail, expected in October. The adjustments also focus on stability and performance across different player profiles in the global online environment.
