This part of the competition promises fast-paced, squad-based battle royale gameplay. After the massive popularity of past Call of Duty Warzone tournaments, this year’s EWC Warzone is set to bring even more intense showdowns and dramatic finishes. It’ll all go down over the span of four days.

Each day will feature multiple matches, especially during the group and last chance phases. The finals will likely take center stage on the last day, August 9, with a stacked audience both live and online.

Warzone Competing Teams

A total of 21 teams, each composed of three players, will participate in this year’s Warzone competition. The lineup features a mix of big-name orgs, up-and-comers, and regional powerhouses. Here are some of the confirmed squads:

Team Falcons – The 2024 champions and local favorites from Saudi Arabia, returning as strong contenders on home soil.
Team i_hmoodx – A team from the MENA region, qualified through their regional tournament. Led by known Warzone players IPenGuin__ and Notri0us.
WhateverItTakes – Representing APAC, this team placed second in the Asia-Pacific regional qualifier.
Team kngmatii – Qualified from the Latin America North region.

Warzone Tournament Format

Warzone on EWC 2025 will follow a three-stage format that’s designed to combine competitive fairness with high entertainment value:

1. Group Stage

The 21 teams are split into three groups of seven. Over the first two days, each team competes in a round-robin style against others in its group. These are played as 4-match series, and results are based on cumulative point performance.

The top 7 teams overall across all groups will advance directly to the Finals. The remaining 14 drop into the Last Chance phase.

2. Last Chance Qualifier

This round is a make-or-break stage. The 14 remaining teams will play 6 matches total in a single pool. Only the top 7 teams from this phase will join the Finals.

3. Finals (Match Point format)

The Finals follow a Resurgence Trios Match Point system. Teams earn points based on kills and placements during each match. Once a team hits a certain point threshold (to be announced), they become “Match Point Eligible.” From that moment on, they must win a match to be declared champion. If no team closes the match point, standings will fall back to total points.

This format keeps the finals ultra-competitive and unpredictable. It rewards consistency, but also demands clutch performance under pressure.

Warzone Prize Pool

The total Warzone prize pool is $1,000,000 USD. While the full distribution breakdown hasn’t been officially revealed, it’s expected to follow a similar structure to previous events.

The 16 teams are split into four groups of four, using the GSL-style double-elimination format. Each match is best-of-5, and two teams from each group advance.

That leaves 8 teams entering the playoffs.

2. Playoffs (Single Elimination)

The remaining 8 teams face off in a single-elimination bracket. All matches will be best-of-5, except for the Grand Final, which will be best-of-7.

This format ensures that only the most consistent and clutch-performing teams reach the top.

Black Ops 6 Prize Pool

The prize pool for the Black Ops 6 competition is $1,800,000 USD, one of the largest single-event prize pools in Call of Duty history.
