The new PvP season has started in World of Warcraft Cataclysm Classic. Despite some issues with PvP vendors in recent days, players can now earn honor and compete in rated PvP.
Season 9 of PvP is officially underway in Cataclysm Classic, and while many players are excited to return to rated battlegrounds, a significant issue has been hindering some players' progress. The Conquest Quartermaster and Honor Vendors disappeared from Stormwind just a few hours after the new season went live.
As of the time of writing this article, the Conquest vendors have yet to be reintroduced into the game, but the Honor vendors are now back. This "bug" was caused by an incorrect Conquest cap when the patch was released. One major point of contention is that during the few hours the vendors were available, some lucky players managed to acquire large amounts of high-level PvP gear, giving them a significant advantage in rated PvP.
Blizzard addressed the situation last night, stating:
"Earlier today, to address an issue with items that can be purchased for Conquest, we sent all Conquest vendors on vacation. We have been working diligently to understand and fix the issue, but it has proven particularly tricky. At this time, we do not know how long it will take to fix."
The specific issue has not yet been detailed, but it relates to items that can be purchased with Conquest points earned in rated Battlegrounds.
