São Paulo, March 18, 2025 — Blizzard has announced that the 11th major update for Diablo Immortal, titled Writhing Wilds, will be released on March 20. The expansion introduces a new map, reworks the Battleground mode, and adds three new legendary gems.
With this update, the Epoch of Madness begins—a new narrative arc that will continue until the end of the year. Recently, the developer unveiled the 2025 roadmap, offering a preview of upcoming features and events.
Key Updates
- New Setting: Sharval Wilds
The update takes players to the Sharval Wilds, a region influenced by uncontrolled mystical forces. The story involves teaming up with Druids and Witches to investigate supernatural disturbances and protect the local population. - Battleground Updates
A new PvP map has been added, alongside changes to objectives and mechanics, introducing a fresh dynamic to battles. The primary goal remains the destruction of the Ancient Heart. - New Legendary Gems
Three new gems have been introduced, each providing unique benefits:- Colossus Engine (five-star): Increases skill damage by 50%, extends skill range, and grants knockback immunity.
- Specter Glass (two-star): Critical hits weaken enemy armor, increasing damage dealt and critical hit chance.
- Faltergrasp (one-star): Critical hits slow enemy movement and prevent charge abilities.
- Item Crafting System
The update also introduces the ability to collect materials in the open world to craft legendary equipment and enhance class-specific attributes.
