With tonight's maintenance, Diablo Immortal is gearing up for the arrival of the Tempest, set to launch tomorrow. The new class in the Diablo franchise promises to unleash the power of storms on enemies, bringing with it class-specific story content, a new event, and more.
Starting at 3 AM PDT tomorrow, the new update will be available in all regions, allowing players to become the Tempest. The new Battle Pass for Season 27, Arcane Calamity, will also begin on June 6.
Players have three ways to experience the Tempest, and a great place to start is the Tempest’s origin story quest, Relentless Tide. In this quest, you'll learn how some Tempests set out to escape their homeland, threatened by storms, winds, mist, and beasts, and survive. Written by Ryan Quinn, the story "We Are All Guilty" delves into this intense journey.
The quest is open to all classes and does not require a class change. It tells the story of the Tempest's ancestral home and how they arrived at their current situation.
Additionally, there’s the Tempest Trial dungeon, which also doesn’t require a class change. There are three recommended builds for players to try out to get a feel for playing as a Tempest. This allows you to test the new class before deciding to create a new character or use a class change, which is now available upon reaching Hespéria. With tomorrow’s update, all players will receive a free class change. If you decide to revert to your original class, you can do so once per day until June 13, with no cooldown period.
The new event, Deluged Plane, is an evolution of the Fractured Plane event. For two weeks, all players will play as Tempest, allowing them to try different builds and combinations. Additionally, there’s a chance to earn exclusive Tempest cosmetics and some legendary gear.
Other events are also returning, such as Trials of the Hordes, Hungering Moon, Shady Stock, and Perils of the Fen. However, this update is clearly focused on the exciting new Tempest content.
