Modern Warfare 4 DMZ uses a bounty system that rewards players for hunting down operators with a Wanted status. In Hajin, operators build a bounty by eliminating other players. After four kills across multiple matches, they become Wanted and can be tracked by bounty hunters.
PvP remains optional. Players can focus on objectives and loot or choose to fight other operators. The system was detailed on October 19, 2026, and rewards successful hunters with DMZ Cash.
MW4 DMZ bounty system at a glance
- Wanted: Status earned after killing four players across multiple matches.
- Bounty Hunters: Players who spend DMZ Cash at Bounty Stations to find marked operators and claim rewards.
- Bounty Leaderboard: A board at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) showing the 50 most wanted operators and the 50 top bounty hunters.
How PvP works in MW4 DMZ
PvP is optional. Each operator can prioritize objectives and loot or engage other players. Eliminating rival operators increases a player’s bounty and makes them more visible to hunters.
The system recognizes two informal playstyles: Killers, who hunt other operators, and Hunters, who track players marked as Wanted. Once an operator reaches four kills, other players can earn DMZ Cash by eliminating them.

Wanted levels and Most Wanted status
There are multiple Wanted levels, and each one increases the potential reward. The highest level is Most Wanted. PvP activity is tracked across multiple matches rather than reset after each match. Factors such as who fired first and whether an operator was outnumbered also affect bounty progression.
Operators with a high bounty may appear on the Wanted Board, making them easier for bounty hunters to find.
How to find a target and claim a bounty
During a match in Hajin, open the Tac Map, find a Bounty Station, and interact with it. The list of Wanted operators in the current match is free to view.
To get an approximate target location, purchase Bounty Intel from the FOB Bank using DMZ Cash. The price depends on the target’s Wanted level: the higher the bounty, the more the Intel costs. After purchase, the map shows a circle indicating the target’s general area. The circle updates more often and shrinks as the target’s Wanted level rises.
At the highest level, the Killer’s approximate location may be visible to every player in Hajin, including those who did not buy Intel.
To claim the reward, a hunter must eliminate the target and extract with their Dog Tag. The reward, which scales with the target’s Wanted level, is deposited in the FOB Bank only after a successful extraction.
What is the MW4 DMZ Bounty Leaderboard?
The Bounty Leaderboard Station at the FOB displays rankings globally or filtered to show friends. It features two lists:
- Top 50 Most Wanted Operators: Updated weekly, with each operator’s status (Wanted or Eliminated) and bounty amount.
- Top 50 Bounty Hunters: Ranked by collected rewards and DMZ Cash earned.
How to clear Wanted status and lose a bounty
There are three ways to clear the status:
- Die without extracting: Wanted status and the bounty are lost.
- Lose the Dog Tag: Another player must pick it up after killing the operator and extract with it, even if the eliminated operator is revived later.
- Pay off your own bounty: Use DMZ Cash at a Bounty Station to clear the reward.
If an operator kills more players after clearing their status, their bounty starts building again because the system tracks PvP activity across multiple matches.
