The developer behind Pokemon GO has revealed details about the next Community Day, scheduled for June 20. The event will feature Frigibax as the main Pokémon and will include temporary bonuses, increased spawn rates, and higher chances of encountering its Shiny version.
The event will run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time in each region. During the event window, Frigibax will appear more frequently across the in-game map. The company also confirmed the availability of special background versions, a feature that has gained popularity among collectors in recent months.
Trainers who evolve Arctibax into Baxcalibur up to four hours after the end of Community Day will receive the exclusive move Glaive Rush. The attack will only be available within the time frame defined by the developer.
Special bonuses will be active during the event
In addition to the increased number of Frigibax encounters, the Community Day will include several extra benefits for players. The announced bonuses include:
• Double Candy for catches;
• Triple Stardust from catches;
• Higher chances of obtaining Candy XL for accounts above level 31;
• Increased encounter rates for Shiny Frigibax.
The monthly Community Day events have become one of the main engagement strategies in Pokemon GO. The format keeps the community active while encouraging players to hunt for rare creatures, exclusive moves, and limited-time special Pokémon variants.
Pokemon GO will open voting for the August Community Day
The company also shared early details about the Community Day planned for August. Just as it did in 2025, players will be able to vote for which Pokémon will headline the event.
The voting options are:

• Nickit;
• Fidough;
• Yamper.
Voting will be available on the official Pokemon GO YouTube channel between May 30 and 31. Each account will be allowed to submit only one vote.
Frigibax gains popularity among Paldea Pokémon
The choice of Frigibax comes amid Baxcalibur’s growing popularity within the Pokémon franchise. The Pokémon established a strong competitive presence in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and became one of the most widely used creatures from the Paldea generation.
In addition, the evolutionary line received a Mega Evolution in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, although there is still no official release window for the feature in Pokemon GO. The community expects the form to arrive in the mobile game in the future.
The Community Day announcement also arrives close to the 10th anniversary of Pokemon GO, which will be celebrated in July.
