KRAFTON has released Update 35.1 for PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS on PC, with the console version scheduled to launch on April 17.
The latest update includes a series of gameplay changes aimed at unifying the player experience across modes and maps, along with seasonal content and community-requested improvements.
The initiative is in line with the company’s 2025 roadmap, which aims to deliver a more modern and consistent battle royale experience for both long-time players and those returning to the game.
Standardized Features Across Modes and Maps
One of the major updates includes the unification of items and mechanics in Normal, Ranked, and Esports modes. The goal is to reduce map-specific learning curves while maintaining the distinct identity of each Battleground.
Items now available on all maps:
- Portable Zipline
- Stun Gun
- Emergency Cover Flare (Solo mode only)
Items removed from all maps:
- Blue Chip Transmitter
- 4x Thermal Scope
- Spike Trap
According to KRAFTON, these changes are intended to streamline loot balancing and deliver a more predictable and tactical core experience.
Recall System Now on All Maps
The recall system, which allows downed players to return to the match, has now been enabled across all maps, including Karakin and Paramo. Settings are individually tailored for each map to maintain balance, while offering a more consistent squad dynamic and return mechanic overall.
Updated Weapon Sway System
Based on player testing in Gunplay Labs, the newly overhauled Weapon Sway system is now live. Developed with direct community feedback, the new system aims to:
- Reduce excessive screen shake
- Improve shot consistency
- Raise the skill ceiling for precision weapon handling
KRAFTON stated it will continue to monitor real-time data and player feedback to fine-tune the experience.
Introducing: Competitor
Update 35.1 also introduces “Competitor,” a new high-end character enhancement system available in the Workshop. Competitor outfits are released as complete sets, combining unique visual designs with themed costumes. These can be upgraded over time with additional visuals and functionalities.
Materials required for upgrades can be obtained via Competitor Prime Packs, available in Archivist Crates or crafted using Artisan Tokens in the Workshop’s Special Crafting section.
Update 35.1 is now available for PC players. Further details can be found through the game’s official channels.
