The latest PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS update is now available for PC players, with a console release scheduled for May 22.
As part of the game’s 2025 roadmap, Update 35.2 enhances tactical gameplay with the addition of destructible terrain in the Taego map, along with changes aimed at unifying the gameplay experience across all available maps.
Modifiable Terrain and New Strategies in Taego
For the first time, the Taego map features destructible terrain mechanics, allowing players to alter the environment during combat. Explosives such as fragmentation grenades, mortars, C4, and the Panzerfaust can now reshape the terrain, opening up new possibilities for attack and defense.
A newly added pickaxe also enables players to dig manually, offering a quieter and more strategic way to change the battlefield.
More Unified Gameplay Across Maps
The update brings previously map-specific elements to other locations, aiming to create a more consistent gameplay experience. Highlights include:
- Vehicle Camouflage Net: A new item that disguises parked vehicles, now available in Erangel and Miramar.
- Vending Machines: Now also appear in Erangel and Taego, offering healing and boost items, with a chance of multiple item drops.
- Destructible Pots: Introduced in Erangel, allowing players to obtain loot by interacting with the environment.
Item and Gameplay Adjustments
The update also includes several tweaks to equipment and balance:
- C4 is now a deployable item, requiring a 4-second setup time, changing how it’s used tactically.
- Inflatable Boat speed increases when fully occupied, and its inventory weight has been reduced.
- Flare Gun usability has been improved, with clearer tips, better interface indicators, and enhanced radio messages.
