Season 4 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone launches on May 29 across all platforms, introducing new multiplayer maps, game modes, updates to Zombies, and a refreshed Battle Pass.
The storyline also moves forward with an unlikely alliance between Adler and Stitch, who team up to uncover the Pantheon informants.
Multiplayer Receives New Maps and Modes
The new season brings three multiplayer maps at launch: Shutdown (6v6), Fugitive (6v6), and Blitz (6v6 / 2v2). Mid-season will see the release of Eclipse (6v6 / 2v2) and a reimagined version of Fringe (6v6).
Ranked Play also returns with a new season, allowing players to climb the leaderboards and earn exclusive rewards.
Three new game modes are featured throughout the season:
- Team Elimination: Two teams have a limited number of lives per round and compete to be the last team standing. Players drop dog tags upon death, which can be collected by enemies to confirm a kill or by teammates to deny the point.
- One in the Chamber: A fan-favorite mode returns. Each Operator starts with a pistol, one bullet, a knife, and three lives. Accuracy is key: eliminate an opponent to earn another bullet.
- Party Ops (mid-season): A limited-time mode that includes a series of random group mini-games. The player with the highest score at the end wins.
Zombies Mode Marks The Return of Grief
First introduced in Black Ops 2, the fan-favorite Grief mode returns to Zombies. It pits two teams of four players against one another in a shared arena. While players cannot directly kill members of the opposing team, they can hinder their progress using melee attacks, bullets, or projectiles.
Additional features include:
- New ammunition mod: Shatter Blast allows for area damage and armored zombie takedowns.
- New consumables: Three new GobbleGums offer explosive effects.
- Support weapon: The Grim Reaper launcher amplifies damage output.
- Challenges and boss battle: New Dark Ops Challenges unlock hidden rewards, while a limited-time mode called Starting Room features a powerful Abomination as players fight to survive as long as possible.
Warzone Updates With New POI and Ranked Modes
Season 4 brings a new point of interest to Verdansk: The Overlook, a towering skyscraper featuring zip lines, cranes, and multiple interior areas for exploration.
Limited-time modes also return:
- Clash (Verdansk 52v52): A massive team deathmatch where players fight to dominate zones and eliminate enemies.
- Havoc Royale: A special match with chaotic modifiers set in a themed area of Verdansk.
- Resurgence Casual (Rebirth Island): Features combat between humans and AI-controlled robots in a more relaxed environment.
Ranked play is expanded with two separate modes:
- Ranked Battle Royale (Verdansk): Available from launch through the entire season.
- Ranked Resurgence (Rebirth Island): Returning mid-season.
