The Haunting returns with a vengeance in Season 06, bringing Halloween-themed map variants and chilling Limited Time Modes (LTMs) across all three modes.
Fight as and against iconic slashers and zombies, and unlock a bounty of spooky rewards through in-game events and the new Battle Pass. Season 06 launches October 9 at 9 AM PT (Pacific Time).
Overview: The Haunting Unleashed
Get ready to face your nightmares: Season 06 transforms Black Ops 6 into a haunted warzone. You’ll experience Boo-Town (the Halloween variant of Nuketown), the Haunted Havoc zombie mode, and terrifying variants of Verdansk and Rebirth Island in Warzone.
New Multiplayer maps (Gravity, Rig, and Mothball) join the fray. Slashers roam in Slasher Deathmatch, with Jason from Friday the 13th and Chucky from Child’s Play making their deadly debut.
Meanwhile, in Zombies mode, Haunted Havoc introduces pumpkin-headed undead and Mimics, plus the new GobbleGum Jacked Lanterns (Whimsical). In Warzone, Zombie Royale returns with new abilities, and the Casual Z mode sees zombies roaming Verdansk and Rebirth Island.
To complement it all, a loaded Battle Pass introduces Predator as a key operator, and BlackCell owners gain access to Dread and exclusive rewards.
Free Trial From October 9 to October 16
A free trial for the full season runs from October 9 to October 16, offering full access to Campaign (for the first time in BO6), Multiplayer, and Zombies (excluding Ranked).
Players will also get to try new content from The Haunting, like the maps Gravity, Rig, Mothball, and the Haunted Havoc LTM.

Multiplayer: Maps, Modes & Ranked Play
New Maps & Boo-Town
Season 06 launches with three new core maps:
- Gravity (6v6)
- Rig (6v6)
- Mothball (Strike: 6v6 / 2v2)
Additionally, Boo-Town (the Halloween variant of Nuketown) brings in skeletons, spiders, Jack-o’-Lanterns, creaking doors, and a spooky night atmosphere.
Slasher Deathmatch (LTM)
The new Slasher Deathmatch mode (Limited Time Mode) pits survivors against slashers. At the start of each round, two of the eight players become slashers (either Jason or Chucky) and hunt the survivors. The survivors win if they eliminate both slashers or survive until time expires. Slashers win if all survivors are eliminated.
Each round, new players are chosen as slashers so that every participant has a chance to play as one. Survivors emit a scream every 30 seconds, making stealth essential.
- Jason: Abilities include Rage Mode (temporary immunity to stuns), Teleport (to a random survivor), and Stalking. He wields a Machete and Combat Axe.
- Chucky: Has extra lives (up to six), faster movement, and uses a Combat Knife and Combat Axe. Survivors begin with Shock Charges and Molotovs that recharge over time.
Ranked Play
Season 06 also refreshes Multiplayer Ranked Play, with the same modes, settings, and restrictions as the Call of Duty League. Players earn Skill Rating (SR) to climb ranks and unlock seasonal rewards.
Rewards include weapon blueprints, calling cards, camo, decals, and special ranks like Top 250 Champion.
Zombies: Haunting the Undead
Haunted Havoc LTM
Haunted Havoc is the new Limited Time Mode available across all six Zombies maps. Zombies wear pumpkin heads, drop Jack-o’-Lanterns when defeated, and face increased aggression via the Rampage Inducer.
The mode is more forgiving early on (reduced zombie health until Round 15), but zombies deal more damage as rounds progress.
Completing the main quest on each map yields rewards: GobbleGums, XP, Aether Tools, crystals, and more.
Jack-o’-Lanterns & Mimics
Enemies may drop glowing pumpkins (Jack-o’-Lanterns), which can contain powerful loot like Ammo Mods, Scorestreaks, Aether Tools, or even be Mimics (fake pumpkins).
New GobbleGum: Jacked Lanterns (Whimsical)
This new GobbleGum gives zombies pumpkin heads and creepy sound effects for 3 minutes. It cannot be used in Haunted Havoc (because zombies already wear pumpkins by default).
Leaderboard Events
Two new Leaderboard (Ranking) Events debut:
- Death Pit: Earn Essence in Haunted Havoc to climb the leaderboard and get rewards.
- Extinction Protocol: Get eliminations via Scorestreaks or while Field Upgrades are active. Higher leaderboard placement yields better rewards.
Warzone: Nightfall & Zombie Mayhem
Map Variants & Nightmap Transformation
Verdansk and Rebirth Island are transformed into dark, haunting versions in The Haunting map variants.
Zombie Royale Returns
Zombie Royale is back, with eliminated Operators returning as zombies. Zombies get new abilities and map-wide features. The last squad with at least one living Operator wins.
Some new zombie abilities:
- Mimic: Zombies disguise themselves as environment items and ambush unsuspecting players.
- EMP Blast: Disrupt equipment, vehicles, HUD, and stun/slows nearby humans.
- Mutant Injection: Transforms zombies into more powerful forms (e.g., Mangler). Taking damage reduces the transformation time.
Map-wide features include Portals, humans get redeployed, zombies teleport to random alive Operators.
Also, Haunted Box drop boxes appear, offering items like armor, ammo, equipment, and rare loot—but beware surprises.

Casual Z Mode
In Casual Z (Battle Royale Casual Z & Resurgence Casual Z), zombies roam Verdansk & Rebirth in Haunting variants. Players face both zombie hordes and enemy Operators (including bots). Zombies here don’t have special abilities but can still be dangerous in numbers.
Casual Z does not affect stats, and it doesn’t count toward eligibility for Resurgence Ranked Play.
Ranked Play: BR & Resurgence
A new Ranked Play season will include Battle Royale and Resurgence Ranked Play modes. Seasonal rewards (charms, camo, blueprints, emblems) are earned as you climb ranks.

Events & Rewards
Season 06 features several in-season events across Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone:
- The Haunting Daily Login: up to 7 Battle Pass Tier Skips, double XP tokens, blueprints, emblems, and more.
- Echoes of the Dead: rewards include the X52 Resonator, GPMG-7 attachment, animated camos, finishing moves, etc.
- Chucky Event Pass: unlocks Chucky & Tiffany operators, the Chainsaw melee weapon, Pumpkin Glow Camo, and themed content.
- Tapes of Terror: collect tapes to earn zombies-themed rewards, gobblegums, emblems, double XP tokens, etc.
Battle Pass & BlackCell
The Haunting Battle Pass:
- Cost: 1,100 COD Points (Base) or 2,400 COD Points (Bundle with Instant Rewards)
- Over 110 unlockable items (excluding BlackCell) including skins, blueprints, finishing moves, emotes, etc.
- Weapons & attachments like GPR91 Double-Barrel Conversion are included.
- The Predator operator plays a central role, with Jungle Predator, Feral Predator skins.
BlackCell:
- Unlocks Dread, exclusive blueprints and skins, and bonus rewards.
- Players who upgrade to BlackCell after buying the base Battle Pass receive 1,100 COD Points back.
- Loyalty Bonus: if you’ve purchased BlackCell in previous seasons, you gain permanent XP bonuses (10% per past season, up to 50%).
Operators & Store Bundles
Operators and skins in this season include:
- Dread (BlackCell exclusive)
- Predator (Jungle & Feral Predator skins) via Battle Pass / BlackCell
- Jason Voorhees via Ultra Skin Tracer Pack (classic Jason, Tactical Jason, and associated blueprints)
