French electronic duo Justice, who contributed to the soundtrack of GTA 6, have shared details about their creative process and explained how they handled the pressure surrounding Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated title. In an interview with BBC Radio 1, Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay said they followed the game’s growing public profile without allowing external expectations to dictate their musical decisions.

In mid-October 2026, Rockstar released a Grand Theft Auto 6 launch trailer featuring “Flower in a Hurricane,” a track associated with a musical project involving Justice, Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. According to figures cited in the original publication, the song has surpassed 6.6 million views on YouTube.

How Justice handled the hype surrounding GTA 6

Gaspard Augé acknowledged the enormous anticipation surrounding a game that audiences have been waiting years to play. However, the musician explained that the duo deliberately kept some distance from the public reaction to protect their focus during production.

By avoiding excessive involvement in outside expectations, Justice were able to concentrate on the music itself. This approach helped the duo maintain its creative direction while working on a project attracting considerable attention.

The group also has a history of music being featured in video game marketing. Its track “Genesis,” one of Justice’s best-known songs, appeared in Ubisoft’s trailer for Assassin’s Creed II.

GTA 6 soundtrack blends 1980s influences with futuristic electronic sounds

Justice explained that the soundtrack draws on a range of musical influences and electronic production techniques. Although some passages evoke the sound of 1980s music, the duo said this was not a strict rule imposed during composition.

Augé noted that the musicians had a particular sonic direction in mind, while the retro elements emerged naturally during the creative process. The resulting sound also incorporates electronic textures that give the compositions a futuristic character.

De Rosnay described one example involving a guitar sound created using a synthesizer. The processing produces an electronic, phase-modulated tone that differs from the sound of a conventional guitar.

These production choices show how electronic instruments and effects help shape the soundtrack’s identity without restricting it to a single musical era.

GTA 6 soundtrack brings together artists from different genres

Justice also discussed working with artists the duo had wanted to collaborate with for some time. De Rosnay said the musicians initially did not know whether every guest would fit the project, but the collaborations developed naturally.

The sessions resulted in several recordings involving different artists, including those associated with “Flower in a Hurricane.” The track featured in Rockstar’s trailer offers a glimpse of the collaboration, although it does not necessarily represent the full musical range planned for the game.

Rockstar has also revealed information about six radio stations in GTA 6. The lineup is expected to cover multiple genres and include podcasts that players can listen to while exploring the game world, whether walking or driving.

Justice and the other contributing artists form part of the musical atmosphere surrounding GTA 6. Further announcements about songs and radio stations could reveal more about the soundtrack available during Jason and Lucia’s adventure.
