Blizzard has released a comprehensive guide to World of Warcraft: Forever, detailing the MMORPG's main features ahead of its global launch on November 4, 2026. The guide covers new areas of Azeroth, playable races, race and class combinations, progression systems, dungeons, raids and PvP modes.

The story takes place after the events of Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom and before Molten Core. Early progression runs from level 1 to 60 and includes more than 1,000 new quests across the continents of Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor.

New Azeroth Zones and Quests

New and revamped areas include Mount Hyjal, Shen'dralas, Riverglades and Zephras Isle. Each zone features its own storylines and activities designed for different stages of character progression.

Riverglades, for example, will feature more than 150 quests, primarily aimed at players between levels 30 and 40. Zephras Isle, meanwhile, offers a starting experience for levels 1 through 12, with architecture inspired by Skywall.

The island will also serve as the starting area for the Skyborne, a new playable race. Characters can join the Horde as Windshapers, gaining access to the Shaman class, or become High-Order Skyborne within the Alliance, with access to the Mage class.

New Race and Class Combinations

The game will introduce previously unavailable combinations of traditional races and classes. Announced options include Orc Mages, Troll Warlocks, Undead Paladins, Human Hunters, Gnome Priests and Dwarf Shamans.

During the initial setup, players can choose between Classic and Enhanced settings. Classic uses traditional character models and an interface closer to the MMORPG's original presentation. Enhanced enables high-definition models and additional quest guidance features.

Progression, Dungeons and PvP

The Legacy System is an account-wide horizontal progression system that brings together challenges, perks and rewards tied to exploration, classes and professions. Players can unlock its benefits with a single character, without having to create additional characters.

The game will also feature nine new dungeons for five-player groups, with challenges designed for characters between levels 13 and 60. At maximum level, three raids are scheduled to launch on December 9, 2026: Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia's Lair.

In PvP, the main addition is Darkspear Islands, a battleground where teams of 15 players compete for strategic positions and a central flag. The game will also offer Normal, PvP, Roleplay and Roleplay PvP modes. Hardcore mode will arrive at a later date.

Another feature is the Camping system, which allows players to share campsites and receive bonuses from structures crafted through professions. Players must remain at a campsite for at least one minute to activate its available effects.

Blizzard published the full guide to help new and returning players understand the systems and content available in World of Warcraft: Forever ahead of its global debut.
