A freeze isn't always the same as lag

A freeze is when the game stops for a moment and then comes back. The screen can lock up, your character can stop responding or the match seems to hang for a short period before recovering. Many people call this lag, but a freeze can come from the network, hardware, temperature, memory or a combination of these factors.
